Trade timings
You can place an order anytime in the Finvest app, even after market-hours.
The markets are open from 9:30 AM ET-4 PM ET during regular business days (Monday-Friday, except holidays). Orders placed outside these hours will be queued to process when the market opens on the next trading day.
Sometimes, it can take up to 3-5 days for bank account transfers after you initiate a transfer from your bank account into your brokerage account. We initiate your buy or sell order in market hours once funds in your brokerage account is available.
My trade or deposit failed. This can happen for a number of reasons, including:
- Insufficient funds
- Wrong type of account (doesn’t support ACH transactions)
- Duplicate transfer
- Declined transfer
To prevent reversals, we recommend confirming the following about your bank account before initiating transfers to Finvest:
- Has sufficient funds available for at least 5 business days after you initiate a transfer because it might take time for your bank to process the request.
- Is compatible with standard outgoing ACH transfers, and that you’ve entered in the correct information when you linked the account.
If your deposit or trade failed, we’ll send you an email. For some reversals, we might also unlink your bank account. Check out your cash page in the Finvest app to relink your bank account.
